Pretty much wherever you live in the world, you are likely staying home as much as possible to help slow down the spread of the highly contagious COVID-19. My husband and I are trying to work from home with our three little ones at home with us. Here are some things that have worked for us to get the kids to play on their own without us so we can work!
Independent Fun for Kids
Depending on the ages of your kid(s), these are some things that may keep them entertained for a while without you. They have worked for us…
This has been a life-saver! My kids use colorful rolls these to make designs all over the floors and walls. They even made a huge spider web in the playroom. I love that I don’t have to worry about it messing up the paint when we pull it off the walls.
The same concept, but kids can build roads for their toy cars!
We just ordered these to paint on our windows. I am very excited and will report back once the rain here stops!
How cool is this?! A gift that keeps giving. You get five caterpillars and watch them grow into butterflies!
This indoor/outdoor bounce house just arrived! I’m very hopeful it will give me hours of work time while the kids burn energy.
Here are some other good-looking bounce houses of various sizes:
Bedtime has been a little more relaxed in our house. I got the big kids these book lights so they can stay up late reading in their rooms.
Fun With Friends
We got these and shared with our neighbors. The kids have had a BLAST being silly with each other!
Learning
Working From Home
With the gym closures and lack of kid-free time, I haven’t moved my body as much as I should. I just bought this balance board that claims to keep your legs and core active while helping to improve focus and reduce fatigue.
Home Organization
I’ve taken advantage of and have started organizing some things in my house. Here are a few things I bought in recent weeks that have helped our at home organization.
Virtual Learning
A few things I like having for our virtual learning “pod”:
• Indoor air purifier and another indoor air purifier
• Blue Light Blocking Glasses (for all that extra screen time)
