Play Kitchen Renovation

This adorable corner kitchen was selling in a local swap & sell group for $15.

It wasn’t in the best shape, so I cleaned it up a bit and then started painting. I spray painted all the hardware gold, using Krylon Metallic Gold Spray Paint. Then I painted the upper wood backboards navy blue (Van Deusen Blue) as well as the chalkboard on the fridge.

The washing machine was pink and I painted that white. I wasn’t sure what to paint the microwave, so I went with dark gray.

For the subway tile backsplash, I bought peel and stick subway tiles on Amazon. At first, I thought I was finished when it looked like this:

But, after a while, I decided I needed some more navy blue.

After I did that, I thought I should paint the microwave white to match the washing machine.

I need to figure out what to put over the microwave “buttons”. I had to paint over them with one coat because it was too difficult to paint around them. Maybe I’ll buy some stickers to serve that purpose. It isn’t perfect, but overall, I am happy with how this play kitchen turned out.
